Bowen Technique

Introduced to Europe from Australia in 1992, the Bowen Technique is now one of the fastest growing complementary therapies in the UK. The Bowen Technique is a gentle, holistic, non-intrusive remedial therapy, allowing the body to re-balance. It is highly effective in aiding a variety of muscular/skeletal problems and conditions. The gentleness of the treatment makes it suitable for everyone, from babies to the elderly, and from the fit sportsperson to the very ill. Young children respond very well to the treatment and find it relaxing too! A treatment takes up to an hour and can be performed through light clothing. It is a “hands on”, “hands off” therapy whereby the practitioner uses fingers and thumbs to gently roll over specific points on muscle and soft tissue. After each set of moves, hands are taken off to allow the body to respond to the treatment, and begin the process of re-balance while you relax. The treatment is not a form of massage with no heavy manipulation or use of oils.
